A lovely couple recently sent me a giant pine cone and asked if I could somehow encorporate it into their engagement ring as it was found on the beach where he proposed! It was found in New Zealand and there was an amazing sunset at the time. So, we choose an orange stone. I sourced a lovely Fairtrade orange sapphire that was bi coloured orange. I chopped up pieces of the pine cone and carefully arranged the pieces to achieve balance in the form, yet assymetric. It was a challange and I really enjoyed making it.  It was cast into recycled 18 carat yellow gold and two little conflict free diamonds glisten at either side. Delighted to have made something so unique, personal and momentous for a lovely couple x   before setting picture Emily ring floating Emily ring on pine cone Front view emilys ring. 18carat yellow gold, diamonds, orange sapphire fairtrade setting picture
