FAQs

How long does it take for a commission to be completed?

Each jewellery commission is tailored separately. It can take anything from 4 weeks to 8 weeks depending on when you need it for, how complicated it is to make and sourcing the right materials to fit the job. If you have a specific date in mind, deadlines are good for me! And I will always let you know before I start the job if your deadline is a realistic timeframe to make the work. If it is not a bespoke piece then I can do it in a day if the pieces are already cast and waiting to be soldered and made into jewellery. So the best answer is just get in touch and I am happy to come to some agreement with you to suit your needs.

How much will it cost?

For bespoke work, a 50% non refundable deposit is taken up front and then the following 50% taken on completion. Cost is dependant on the piece and I am always to happy to try make something to suit your budget and will give you options within that particular bracket. Resizing is done free of charge if any tweaks are needed.

Can I commission from Eily without meeting her?

Yes no problem, I make a lot of my commissions remotely. I just need your size and we can work out pricing and design via email or skype. But if you wish to fly me to where you are living to discuss (Hawaii anyone?) then I am happy to talk business after some cocktails.

Will you use my stones to use within a piece?

Eily will need to assess the quality of the stones before doing so. Any breakages due to fissures within the stones or bad quality are at the cost to the customer.

Jewellery Care

Silver by nature will tarnish so needs some upkeep and care to ensure longevity. Below are some tips for you.
Use any perfume or cosmetics before you put your beautiful jewellery on as ingredients can cause your jewellery to tarnish or discolour.
Don’t store jewellery in the bathroom or damp places.
Don’t wear your jewellery swimming as chlorine or even sea water is not good for it.
Don’t go to the gym in your jewellery or garden as sweat will cause tarnish quicker.
Scrub pieces with a very soft toothbrush and a little soapy water. Or use silver dip if it is not gold plated or there are no stones or enamel on the piece.
Take care with any gemstones or enamel in your jewellery and don’t use chemical cleaners near them.
Black oxidization on jewellery will wear as you show it off, especially rings. This is just another feature and in harmony with the organic and natural wearing process.
Like all items with long wear, they may need a re-plate or a new chain or claws redone. Whatever the matter just get in touch and I will give you a quote if required.
Beware of jealous looks whilst wearing your jewellery.

Materials and Packaging

Each piece is carefully packaged into it’s own black recycled jewellery box. Each one is gold foil printed for a luxe feel with Eily’s recognizable logo.
They come tied with black natural fibre twine.
All tissue that wraps the boxes is acid free tissue.
All bags used are recycled black bags.

All postcards, business cards, padded envelopes and information leaflets are printed on recycled paper.
A lot of Eily’s stones are sourced ethically/ fairtrade but supply is low still so not all stones can be sourced in this manner. In the future, Eily wishes to use only ethical stones when demand feeds supply a bit better. Eily is also learning how to cut stones herself at a lapidary course she attends for more interesting cuts. at
